FOREIGN BODY INJURY Foreign body injury
is a common pediatric health problem, particularly in children
under the age of four years. Although the majority of cases is
identified and treated early, it is important to be able to recognize
subtle symptoms of foreign body injury, provide anticipatory
guidance to families, and encourage follow up care to minimize
consequences. The most recent clinical evidence regarding common
causes and types of foreign body injuries in the child, anatomy
and assessment, diagnosis, management techniques and preventative
