Continuing Education Requirements for the State of New Hampshire

Requirements for license renewal for RNs and LPNs Advanced Practice: Approved Providers: Failure to meet requirements:

Applicants for licensing by renewal must meet both active-in-practice and educational requirements:
Practice
     *400 hours within 4 years of renewal (This may be paid or      unpaid work, or by providing care to a family member if      licensed expertise is required and a nursing plan of care is      implemented.)
     *Current employment of a minimum of 128 hours within 4      months immed. prior to renewal (and meet the 400 hours      at the next renewal)
Continuing Education: 30 Contact Hours (1 Contact Hour = 50      Minutes); National certification may be used to meet this      requirement.For additional options, please contact your Board of NursingARNP must document 60 contact hours of study, 4 of which shall be specific pharmacology content pertinent to the practice category and 900 hours of practice within 4 years.
Current national certification shall count for 30 of the 60 contact hours.

All continuing education requirements may be obtained by Home Study.

APRN - In addition to 30 contact hours for RN licensure, 30 additional hours specific to ARNP specialty, 4 of which shall be pharmacology specific in 2 years immediately preceding application. 400 hours of active practice in each renewing nursing practice category in 4 years immediately preceding date of application or present documents verifying current ability to use advanced nursing knowledge, judgement and skills in the practice category through theory, clinical and practicum experience.

 

Providers offering workshops, conferences, lectures, in-service education or national certification courses designed to enhance nursing knowledge, judgment and skills.

OF AMERICA® is Accredited as a Provider of Continuing Education in Nursing by the American Nurses' Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).

Failure to meet license renewal requirements shall cause the license to lapse.
Failure to practice without a current license is an act of misconduct or dishonesty is an act subject to disciplinary sanctions.
