Animal testing is the first step in a new therapy being determined safe and effective for human use. Once safety and efficacy in animals has been established, the therapy is tested in humans. After that, clinical trials are performed. The anticoagulation therapy is not necessarily just for animals if it is being tested in mice. PDSA stands for Plan-Do-Act Study and is a model for service improvement. It does not specifically apply to human clinical or animal testing.
